Misprint Thursday's work "Paranormal Frottage" is contained in a large black box with two curtain claid openings. As one enters the box, one is advised to set the environment settings to midnight, wear "GET LIT WEAR" and listen to Misprint's music. One should activate all these media channels in order to achieve an optimal effect. Photographs line the black walls inside the box above the floor which is of a wood-like texture. Once the "GET LIT WEAR" is worn, one is on the floor in a spotlight in the dark, surrounded by Misprint's music. Shadows and lights hasten over the walls. This experience is one of being vulnerable and in a deep contemplative state, alone, perhaps in in a dream. Ultimately, this multi-media experience is one of utter solitude. Misprint's work stands out to the jury of Nordan Art because we feel that the artist succeeds more than anybody else in the December round in captivating the viewer's attention on an emotional level. We felt we were provided an opportunity to escape the present, not for something better, but simply for the sake of escape itself. Having experienced the artist's work, we were left with a feeling of having been deeply touched.
