Oberons utställning verkade dock redan nermonterad men Kludden kan meddela att om två veckor, den 15 september, sätter han upp sin nya simtäckande CORIOLIS med öppning 22:00 svensk tid.



Four Yips installation, som funnits på Two Fish sedan den 12 juni finns turligt nog ännu kvar. Passa på och upplev den!

Sommarminnen

Nu hävdar Frostland att det är höst så trots att solen skiner från en helt molnfri himmel utanför husses sovrumsfönster låter han inte lura sig av det utan kurar och bläddrar i sparade sommarbilder han fått av Apmel.


Han tackar också Apmelina för hennes rörliga (röriga?) sommarminnen från den japanska rekreationssimmen SOLA.

"Själv satt jag och funderade på vad jag skulle ha på mig till kvällen.
Planerade ju en visit på Ewas och Jespers nya sim och sen skulle jag på nattklubb och fira Michael Jacksons födelsedag.


Hur skulle jag kombinera min kostym för kvällen? Med en invigning hos Ewa o Jesper känns det som man bör vara galaklädd... men så uppklädd ville jag inte gå på jazzklubb. Valfriheten i SL skapar ju enorma problem. Kan inte Alessia ta upp det i sin blogg?

I alla fall gick jag först till Ewa o Jesper och hann se litet av en sim som såg mycket välbyggd ut. Bland de festande kände jag mig mycket riktigt för oklädd eftersom jag redan prioriterat Nat's Jazz Club.


Där körde de en Michael Jackson show live som var riktigt riktigt bra! Missa inte den om ni stöter på den. Träffade vännerna Kikas och Marmaduke som var lika entusiastiska som jag. ush kom också men pratade mest om sin klänning. Hon hade en latexklänning och meddelade att det var för att stötta minoriteterna som går igång på latex.

Sen frågade hon mig vilka minoriteter jag stöttat. Jag blev svarslös en stund. Tänkte litet på kvinnosaken men kvinnor är ju i majoritet. När jag sen kom på ett bra svar hade ush redan sagt godnatt o loggat ut."

Damn right kanske inte passar så bra på denna...

Kandinsky svarslös är nog bättre...hehe, blir jag ofta med ush.

Now it's just done! Our Celtic sims for ACTIVE living is somewhat ready. We will work with our residents to create a wonderful environment and have a lot of fun together. What we do decide we who live there.

The cottages that give you 300 Prim cost between 300-600 Ls / week which is incredibly cheap for access to two full swimming and a trip that we create together.

Housewarming party is tomorrow at 2:00 pm SLT and Jean Munro, will play for us.

Thothica hosts a SPECIAL EVENT this week: MarkMonet Thor on Philosophy of Math--on Sunday, Aug 29 at 12:30 pm SLT

As a mathematician in the social and behavioral sciences, I have found it useful to understand three things about mathematics that I believe should be general knowledge.

One is that it is a distinct system of thought that is set apart from the empirical natural and social sciences, and their ideas and theories. It is a deductive system, with axioms, theorems, definitions, and operations. Think
of Euclidean Geometry as an example.

Two, the symbols contained within the mathematical system, such as x, y , z, a b, and c are empty concepts, really place holders for something that may be defined empirically. In geometry there is angle, line, circle, to which the scientist may give special meaning. In my empirical work, a point stands for a nation, and a vector or angle for a relationship between whatever about a nation, such as conflict, and an attribute like economic development.

This can be profound. I have taken the same matrix analysis (the characteristic equation) used in quantum physics to identify the unknown movement and position of a particle, to measure the hidden expectations and situational vectors of a nation at war.

And three, theorems in mathematics follow logically from its axioms, such that if the axioms are true, so its theorems. This is profound. If the axioms of a mathematical system, like geometry are empirically true, then empirical deductions must be true, and we thus have a way of establishing empirical truth.

This possibility so impressed philosophers, like Descartes especially, that their philosophy was a search for axioms that were so self-evidently true that they could base an empirical philosophy on theorems deduced from them. And this philosophy would have to be true. Necessarily. I should note that Descrates' method of search for these true axioms led him to invent the incredibly valuable coordinate system we are so familiar with from analytic geometry and algebra.

So, mathematics is a deductive system of which the theorems are have to be true logically, true in an formal analytic sense. Not necessarily true empirically. Truth in mathematics is a grand tautology--truth by definition.

Think about this. Philosophy concerns itself fundamentally with what is true. Some meetings begin here with the question, "what is truth". Most at such meetings believe that there is no absolute truth. But now, what we have with mathematics is, as I have argued, absolute truth. Truth of the kind that if a = bc, then b = a/c, absolutely.

Thus, we have among the truths to deal with as philosophers the absolute truth of mathematics (and logic, but that is another talk).

Showen bestod av flera dansnummer med olika dekor och Marlo själv bytte både kläder och kön:)


Han hade lite otur med streamen som krånglade (flera i publiken gick) och Apmel tyckte att det var lite tråkigt att inte fler kommit till att börja med, men kom att tänka på nåt Miso skrev i sin blogg nyligen: In the famous words of somebody or other, "Art is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration and 250% shameless self-promotion."

The Association " ESPLICA noprofit " (http://www.esplicat.it) , in cooperation with “Second Physics”, “Immersiva.2life”, “SL_art” and “Solaris Experience”announces the twinning with “ebook.fest” (http://www.ebookfest.it) that will take place in Fosdinovo (MS), Italy on the 10-11-12 of September 2010.

In the same time of the event “ebook.fest” a twin station will be built in the land of “Second Physics” where we'll organize meetings and cross-universe debates which will offer to the digital publishing of Second Life a prestigious windows to increase the value of culture, science and trainig activities in the metaverse. 1. Are you supposed to sketch in SL or RL?
In real life.You can use any pencil and paper,or any medium you like.
Cam in on our Sketchy model and draw what you see. It's up to you! Model will be changing poses at set times throughout the session for variety. Sketching poses for guests will be available on a first come first served basis.

2. Is there a Dr. Sketchy's group I can join?
Yes! Search for DR.SKETCHY'S ANTI-ART SCHOOL in groups or IM
ByrneDarkly Cazalet to join. No charge.

3.How do I bring my finished sketches in-world?
Either scan your drawings or take a good photograph and upload to SL, make sure your file is at least 512 pixels for good resolution.
