Måndagskvällen i SL började för Apmels del med att lyssna på en tidig spelning (mellan sex och sju på eftermiddagen) av Blissful Insomnia (Krakov Letov och Echo Starship) på Ramon Experimental Softball Dream.

Laggigt öppnande för Second Pride

Kludden hade klätt upp sig och satte sig att vänta på den utlovade paraden av flytetyg.


Vi var många som väntade (och väntade) och laggen var odräglig.




Second Pride området är hela sex simmar. Tyvärr kollapsade simmen Kludden satt på totalt och när han loggade in igen begav han sig till startplatsen mot arrangörernas vilja.


Det var enda chansen att få bilder på början av den flytande paraden.








Till slut tröttnade Kludden (efter två timmar) och lämnade över stafettpinnen till alltid lika förtjusande Milli!

Virtual Garden for Change celebrates the beauty of nature and the talent of homeless people

500 people, 450 virtual plant species and British charity dedicated to ending homelessness come together in the Garden for Change, which opens in Second Life on Saturday 29th May 2010 at 12 noon SLT followed by live music from junivers Stockholm, Jana Kyomoon and Craig Lyons.

The garden is a virtual representation of the Places of Change Show Garden which won a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower Show earlier the same week.
A journey through the Places of Change reveals exclusion, choices, opportunity, hope, achievement, enterprise and change. These powerful and challenging themes proved a winner in real life with the judges and with visitors including the Queen, Dame Helen Mirren, Lesley Garrett, David Bellemy, Raymond Blanc and Rolf Harris. The Places of Change was created by around 500 volunteers from 49 homeless agencies from many parts of the UK, brought together by Homeless Link. It was overseen by the Eden Project’s award-winning designer Paul Stone.

Siri Vita has created a representation of the garden in the Garden for Change in Second Life. The zones within the garden focus on the environment, food, the senses, enterprise, and health. Plants were created and donated by Herb Abraham, Luna Bliss, Marmottina Taurog and Zola Zsun. There are almost 450 separate varieties used in the garden, most native to the UK, reflecting the biodiversity theme of the project. Eco features include a plastic bottle greenhouse and a planter wall made from recycled white goods. Velazquez Bonetto has made a pole lathe for the Bodgers Cabin, which represents an old way of living in the forest in harmony with nature.

Jenny Valerian is the Second Life avatar of Jenny Edwards, Chief Executive of Homeless Link. She explained: “We bring a Garden for Change into Second Life thanks to the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. We want to spread the word across the world: Open your eyes to the potential and creativity of homeless people when they are given a chance. The beauty and diversity of the natural world is an inspiration and a healing environment for people who have overcome intense challenges and then move on to uncover new confidence, skills and passion.”

There will be a series of talks, events, performances and workshops held at the Garden for Change. Jenny hopes that it will become a meeting place where people from different countries can meet and share solutions to homelessness. She plans to invite some of the people who have played a part in creating the real life garden to come in world to share their stories and experience.

Homeless Link is the national membership organisation for 500 frontline homelessness charities in England. Its mission is to be a catalyst that will help to bring an end to homelessness. Its vision is to see an end to street homelessness by 2012. It is working with the UK national government and civic leaders to this aim

Opening Friday, May 28 2010, 6 pm local time 9 am pdt

The artist will perform for 44 hours until Sunday, May 30 2010 5 pm local time.

The Swiss artist d-oo-b (Bendix Freutel) creates in the rural environment of Reigoldswil a time of art moments. Hikers are confronted on their way to the cable train with the high tech world of Second Life displayed large in a window. This confrontation should be an inspiration for the people to get involved in the show. Bendix Freutel (in Second Life Eifachfilm Vacirca) is organizing live and online art performances and will present them simultaneously on Odyssey and via the portal in Reigoldswil.

All are welcomed to perform as part of this event. Performers can arrive on Odyssey at any time during the 44 hours and be featured both via the portal space at Kunst-Fenster Reigoldswil and live on Odyssey. Performers and audience are welcome to join Eifachfilm at any time during the event to watch and/or perform.

What is the “secret” of human behavior,
One that’s really so much the saviour
That we may even keep it from ourselves
Rather than very far into it try to delve?


What is it that should be so confidential,
Classified, and undisclosed—its potential
Kept under wraps, so very contra;
Informally: hush-hush; formally: sub rosa?


Well, it’s a revelation of splendor,
One that’s often good to surrender
But is also very well to remember.


Is the will free to will one’s actions otherwise?


Can antecedent conditions be ignored?


Can the self be an unmoved mover?


No, but…


And what of those tendencies of evo’s realm
That have been imprinted on one’s genetic film—
Those of temperament, role preferences,
Emotions, responses,
And even one’s most revered moral choices—
Those invoices from which one rejoices?


Well, these are not choices
At all in of any free will voices;
In essence, from the basis of one
And from all that one has become
From life’s total behavioral reactions,
There are probabilities of actions—
Some patterns that are very likely
And some patterns highly unlikely.


Is free will a necessary fiction,
A kind of a religion?


No, and yes if it’s to provide an essential berth
For one’s morality, meaning, and worth.


So, then, with this “free will” become,
One might then succumb
To systematic deception
About one’s causal connection
To that of nature,
A roadblock, a detour
That’s neither possible,
Necessary, nor desirable.


The enemies to these “free will” motifs
Would be the mythical cultural beliefs
That explain behaviors and feelings
In terms of unknowable forces and beings.


But, to protect one’s moral virtues
Should one still believe oneself’s purview
To be as an ultimately responsible agent, lo—
A self creation exnihilo,
A God-like, miniature first cause who chooses
Without it being determined by one’s own muses?


Well, maybe, but, nay, really not, nil,
For there is no contra-causal free will.


What the good then
Of this fix we’re in?


Such it is then that we can gain a measure of peace
Rather than the anger of resentment’s crease
When someone does or says something bad,
Even those close relatives you once had.


For the civil-law-breakers
And all those ungiving takers
We’ll no longer incarcerate
For punishment, being so irate at the jailbait,
But so that society will be protected
And that they might emerge corrected
From the swill of a prison mill,
Fulfilled with a new unfree will

Thus, the action
