A beautiful intimate detailed installation, big in thoughts, emotions and ideas, Dekka was inspired by a Arthur Rimbaud quote:
"What a life! True Life is elsewhere. We are not in the world."

Notecard: I've started this note card a few times to give some insight into what this build is, but the question that keeps coming mind is how much information does one give away when one wants the observer to observe, I guess I want you to take this piece and make up your own story.
Well maybe I can at least start the story. This piece is about a man who one day wakes up and decides to investigate how he can leave the world he inhabits for a better one. The world could be Second Life, or a real or fantasy Utopian world, maybe a place he visited in books he read as a child, Peter Pan's NeverNeverLand maybe? It could be about the start of the journey, about exploration and discovery, maybe the world he discovers is the man himself.
How he goes about the start of his journey is to build a machine from everyday objects he finds in his 'real' world. He is particularly fond of paper craft. Whether the machine allows him to move into another realm of reality or not, it certainly has a strange effect on objects in the room.
There are things to interact with, mainly doors, some books even. A number of things may happen when you touch (click) an object. There are obvious references and the not so obvious, there is quite a few graphics that can be read.
The build is made for walking around in, camming in this restricted small area, your camera may shoot around the walls and ceiling, also camming around will mean that the experience will be silent, most sounds are sensor triggered. The build was made to work at midnight, so please view it at this time.
I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I had building it and hopefully your story will have a happy ending.
Dekka Raymaker made most of the textures, and most he made for this particular build. Everything was built by him with exception of the sink and toilet which are by Nap Mayo and the suitcase under the bed by Take Lowey.
