The CNCS is the first conservation structure, in France and abroad, to be entirely devoted to the material heritage of theatres. Its mission is the conservation, study and enhancement of a collection of 9.000 theatre, opera and ballet costumes, as well as painted set drops, deposits from the three founding institutions of the Center: the "Bibliothèque Nationale de France", the "Comédie Française" and the "Opera de Paris", and numerous other donations.
It is situated in Moulins, in the department of "Allier", France
Since 2009, the CNCS is a Museum of France.

Created and directed by the artist Marc Blieux since 2004, AIRE offers spaces of experience connecting all the fields of the contemporary creation. In 2006, AIRE / Artefact is the first French association to penetrate Second Life's 3D virtual platform. Using these new media as a laboratory, Marc Blieux and AIRE are developing many innovative creations and exhibitions with international artists. AIRE has been present in many events and festivals, at the "University of Paris 1 Sorbonne", at the "International Biennial of Art" in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and at the "Vidéoformes Festival" of Clermont Ferrand.
It also supports structures such as the "Superior School of Architecture" of Marseille.
