Who never heard of the sakura?
The cherry blossom is the japanese national flower.
The blossom time varies from February in Okinawa to June in Hokkaido. But in the main part of Japan it is in April.
The highlight of the sakura blossom season is hanami (flower viewing party), a custom from the Heian Period: people picnic under the shade of the cherry blossoms.
