Kludden in English - From Basho Singh: About Philip K. Dick

PKD was a science fiction author that had higher literary aspirations. He never achieved the literary credentials he desired during his lifetime but was recognized as a brilliant SF author, winning the Hugo award for his novel "The Man in the High Castle." After his death he has received even more recognition as a ground breaking and highly influential artist. A number of his works have been translated into films such as "Blade Runner," "Total Recal," and "Minority Report." Many authors, musicians, and film makers have been inspired and influenced by this fascinating figure.

Major themes in his work are: What is the nature of humanity, what makes us human? and What is the nature of reality; are there more than 1 reality and is reality objective or subjective?

I have been thinking about building an installation/museum/tribute to PKD to celebrate and explore his work. I would like to gather people to discuss his work and his influence on pop culture. I have purchased something called a Video Sphere with which you can load YouTube videos into and view in an immersive environment. I would also like to place in the sphere a slide show of his book covers as well as photos of him at various points in his life. I would like to hold regular events for a month or so, at the sphere on my parcel, for the purpose of viewing documentaries and short videos about PKD and then discussing his work.

If this project is successful, I would then like to move on to other authors I and many others enjoy.

Build is starting here.
